In my professional life I was often asked, why Jessica Storme? I was always meant to be Jessica Storme Reyneke (Reyneke being my maiden name), but being born into a bilingual home my parents where afraid that my Afrikaans side of the family may make fun of the name so it was left off of my birth certificate.

Years later when my mom told me about it… it made sense. I was always meant to be Jessica Storme.

I have always found beauty in storms and when the thunder was roaring at its loudest and all else disappeared in it’s trembling I would always feel the most at peace. I would feel which storms would blow over and which to be weary of, much like you would be able to sense which people had bad intentions.
