Bringing the 3008 to the US also makes sense as the compact crossover has been a huge hit for Peugeot, with worldwide sales of more than 265,000 last year, a 17 percent increase from 2017. Peugeot's crossover range starts off with this 2008, which lines up with what we consider the subcompact-SUV segment in the U.S. In Peugeot-speak, when you take a car like the 208, 308, or 508 and bloat it into a fatter, taller crossover, you just add a zero to get 2008, 3008, or 5008. Dolby audio for windows 10 download. It's an ever so refreshing departure.

While Citroen has continued with the C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso as MPVs, Peugeot has added another layer of appeal to the 5008 by making it into a crossover.
The second generation model will be available as a 5-seater. However, two extra seats can turn this into a rival for the Skoda Brodiaq 7-seater that's also being presented at the Paris Motor Show.
The design of the 5008 is very similar to that of the 3008. Its stance is vertical and rounded off at the corners, but infused with plenty of Peugeot's trademark creases and protective black plastic.
We have no idea how it drives. However, it looks like a comfortable vehicle that's at home on the high street. Thanks to large chrome wheels and LED lights, the 5008's appearance is modern.
Inside, this crossover is even more practical than its MPV predecessor. We looked closely at the middle row of seats, which has gained about 6 cm of extra legroom. All three seats are independent, can slide forwards, recline and even fold flat with a simple tug. The last two seats are only suitable for small children, but they can be folded flat or removed altogether. The front passenger seat also folds flat to allow items up to 3.2 m long to be stowed, which is even larger than in a most wagons.
The bits that surround the driver are pretty much the same as in the 3008 that blew us away. A 12.3-inch digital dashboard replaces the conventional dials, while the driver-centric console reminds us of the Lexus LFA. As is typical for the French, Peugeot has tried to reinvent the wheel by making it octagonal.
Under the hood, Peugeot proposes a base 1.2-liter turbo engine with 130 horsepower that's available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox or a stick and an auto-only 163 hp version of the 1.6-liter. The diesel range is three-strong, kicking off with the 120 hp version of the 1.6 and followed by meatier 150 and 180 hp 2.0-liter BlueHDI units.
The second generation of the Peugeot 308 is pretty old if you remember the year it came out, namely 2013. Manufactured in France, Malaysia, and China, the hatchback and station wagon are going to be redesigned in 2021 on an updated version of the vehicle architecture used by the outgoing model.

Spied cold-weather testing in Sweden alongside the DS 4, the all-new 308 shows the French automaker’s new signature lighting for the DRLs. The vertical daytime running lights are shared with the 508, 3008, and 5008, which all feature the same platform offering front- or all-wheel-drive options.
Some say that a crossover-like trim level is also going to be offered, which is pretty understandable is you look at the competition. The outgoing Ford Focus and Kia Ceed, for example, are available in Active and XCeed flavors in the Old Continent, where crossovers are getting increasingly popular.
A bit of the taillights and the rear-bumper reflectors can also be seen in this set of pictures, along with two-tone alloy wheels and disc brakes that appear to be designed for regenerative braking. In other words, you can look forward to mild-hybrid assistance as well as a couple of plug-in hybrids.
Marketed as HYbrid and HYbrid4 for all-wheel drive, these PHEVs both feature a 1.6-liter turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s even a performance-oriented version of the HYbrid4 system, which cranks out 360 PS (355 horsepower) and 520 Nm (384 pound-feet) of torque in the 508. Hearsay suggests this powertrain would be suitable for the 308 GTi, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that kind of output in the Three-O-Eight.
The Lion of Sochaux is further rumored to bring the 308 to the United States in 2023, although crossovers like the 3008 and family-sized 5008 are more suitable for this market. Given that U.S. automakers are steering away from passenger cars, Peugeot should be fully aware of the writing on the wall.
On that note, March 2021 is when the French Lion is supposed to reveal the all-new 308 as a 2022 model. Don’t look forward to a Geneva Motor Show debut, though, because the 2021 edition has been unfortunately canceled.
