AnyDesk offers excellent response speeds that will prevent you from falling into despair whenever you have to start a remote session on another computer. It's simple, intuitive, and fast and maintains the original image and sound quality from the computer that stores the files you want to access. AnyDesk is a free remote desktop solution that enables users to access files on any device across the various locations. It hosts a wide array of features including file sharing, online collaboration, access control, and a customizable UI. As such, unlike UltraVNC, another popular solution, AnyDesk is ideal for small and mid-sized businesses.

AnyDesk is a fast remote desktop system and enables users to access their data, images, videos and applications from anywhere and at any time, and also to share it with others. AnyDesk is the first remote desktop software that doesn't require you to think about what you can do. CAD, video editing or simply working comfortably with an office suite for hours are just a few examples. AnyDesk is designed for modern multi-core CPUs. Most of AnyDesk's image processing is done concurrently. This way, AnyDesk can utilize up to 90% of modern CPUs. AnyDesk works across multiple platforms and operating systems: Windows, Linux, Free BSD, Mac OS, iOS and Android.

Just two megabytes - downloaded in a glimpse, sent via email, or fired up from your USB drive, AnyDesk will turn any desktop into your desktop in seconds. No administrative privileges or installation needed.

AnyDesk 5.4.0 changelog:

Anydesk 2.2.0

New Features

  • Implemented screen privacy feature for Windows 8 and 10. Enabling privacy mode during a session will disable the monitor on the remote side so the screen contents are hidden for anyone with physical access to the remote device. Input from the remote side will be blocked automatically during privacy mode for the default desktop.
  • The session player can now jump to a specific point in time of the session recording.

Fixed Bugs

  • Switching the desktop did not restore input block state.
  • Added dialog in case the remote side automatically denied a printer job due to permission settings. - Fixed automatic registration of aliases in custom namespaces in case of updating an installed custom client.
  • On trying to register an alias that was too long it was reported that registration failed because an alias has been registered already.
  • The remote state of NumLock has been altered before session start.
  • Fixed File Manager address field not handling 'Enter'.
  • A couple of buttons in the File Manager could be resized to size zero.
  • After switching sides the File Manager did not show the remote folder contents.
  • The File Manager did not show the session close dialog in case the session was closed from the other side.

Other Changes

  • The install panel's path edit now starts the installation on receiving 'Enter'.
  • Address Book items now offer to create a TCP tunnel.
  • The hotkey for entering fullscreen mode now also allows to leave fullscreen mode.
  • Changed the default value to enable the alternative set of permissions for Unattended Access to 'true'. By doing so the alternative set will be used directly after setting up a password for Unattended Access and using it to connect, effectively granting all permissions to the user connecting.

Anydesk op

At AnyDesk we work hard to add new features and functionality that help organizations fix problems more efficiently and effectively, while providing the best support experience possible. Our upcoming version, AnyDesk 3.0 will be launch soon and it includes new features and productivity enhacements based on the feedback from our faithful users. Here´s a quick summary of them:

Address Book Management

With the new AnyDesk 3.0 address book, you always have all the computers that you want to remotely control together in one convenient place. With the new and innovative tagging system, you can set up groups, and directly access the computer that you want to control remotely with just one click. Add some computers to you favourites, and they will always show up at the start of the list. And all address books are synchronized between your Professional license’s AnyDesk installations. But even without an address book, you can take advantage of our new contact management system. We’ve added an advanced view to the speed dial that let’s you use the whole window for your contacts instead of just one row. And it has a searchbox, too.

Online Status

Anydesk 0

All tiles in the address book and the speed dial now show the online status of the corresponding computer. So you can see at a clance, which computers you can connect to.

Whitelists

My Anydesk Number

To start a session, you need the computer’s AnyDesk address. The request must then be confirmed by the computer user before the session is established. The whitelist sets out exactly who is authorised to access your computer. This ensures that nobody who isn’t authorised to do so can start a session. The whitelist could contain all the computers in your IT department, for example. Or perhaps just your own personal laptop, so that requests can only be made from there.

Session Window Redesign

For every connection request, a popup window appears on the host computer, which must be acknowledged if unattended access with password hasn’t been set up. In Version 3.0, this window received some love. It not displays multiple incoming sessions in a single window, so you don’t have lots of session windows open if many people are viewing your desktop (e.g. if you hold a presentation).

Deployment

To make the life of IT admins easier, the custom client can now include the licence key (MSI and EXE), so you don’t need to set it manually or by script anymore.

New Design

Last but not least, our program interface has undergone a complete refresh. Everything now shines with a contemporary sheen that blends in well with modern Windows systems. We love it, and your staff and clients will also come to do so.
